Like other recent TE offers, think this one was less about actually trying to land a kid (though they’d have been very happy to have him) and more about building inroads to an area, reminding other TEs that they aren’t the only guy on the board, etc.

A relatively recent offer, though (and as I said at the time, probably just a "you're not the only fish in the sea" message to some of the top tight end targets than an indication the staff really wanted him badly).
