ACC and the Big 10

Why does the ACC seem to have a Love Affair with Big 10. It seems that ACC schools play Big 10 more than Big 12 or SEC in all sports (regular season).

If I were Athletic Director, I would not schedule a Big 10 school in any sport.

Commissioner for the Big10 is a UNC grad. Jim Delaney. I am sure he and Swofford communicate a lot.

I have always hated the ACC-Big 10 Challenge. I will be glad when Swofford is no longer ACC Commissioner. He is not loyal to his own conference. Moving ACC tournament up north is a prime example. Bringing in all the Big East northern schools is another.

I liked it when the ACC had 8 teams.....UVA, MD, UNC, DUKE, NC ST, WAKE, CLEM, GT....

Throw out Maryland, insert VT, then you would have a good ACC.

Not really, MD is a basketball school and the ACC is a basketball conference.

Many years ago, I always wondered why Maryland was in ACC since they were "way up north". I honestly thought they were too far north to be in ACC.

HR, UM was a charter member of the ACC and they are located on the Atlantic coast. Further more they are considered a southern state by many people. Our largest VT Alumni Assoc . is in the DC area. I believe it numbers around 55,000 +. Great place to play the ACC tournament.
As you well know we came to the ACC from the BIG East. Why knock The Big East now? It was the catalyst that gave VT a jump start into football recognition. Personally I'm grateful for where we are now (ACC) and thankful for the Big East time we spent. I do agree that we should have been in the ACC from the beginning but we weren't.
Although I don't live in Virginia it was where I was born and raised. I'm still very proud of my home state. There are good people ,schools, and sports programs everywhere. I have O&M glasses just like you but sometimes I think yours are opaque.
