They weren't the prime contender (VT was ahead of the Tide), but getting ride of one competitor - and one that has proven to be very good at closing on top kids - can only be a help. Still looking like Clemson-VT-Georgia (IMO, in that order, though VT and Georgia are close enough as to effectively be tied) with South Carolina sort of hanging around.
