Did Smoke Mizell make the team? I feel really sorry for that kid. Wish he had come to VT. He certainly would have gotten more national attention at Tech than he got at UVa.
LOL.....Smoke has said many times how much he has loved his time at UVA and walks away with a 1st class education. I wouldn't worry about Smoke, he will get looks from the NFL. He is really good at catching the ball out of the backfield. I'm still surprised he's the only ACC player to ever rush for 1,500 and receive for 1,500 in a career. Don't forget HR more Hoos in the NFL than Hokies.....just sayin.
According to sportingcharts.com Hoos have 25.....Hokies 22. The real strange ones are Louisville, GT, NC St. and Duke have more than VT.
Had some good talent but not enough of it. 0 on offense.....2 on defense.....1 on special teams. All very deserving players......who was left off the 1st team from VT that was deserving? You had 9 players recognized seems fair.
I think they collectively would be less strange than the hoos having more, again, given the domination over time by VT over UVA. But in the case of all of them that would tend to make a strong statement about VT doing more with less, Beamer and Bud in particular.
