The backlash on social media about Babcock's comment on the cancellation is totally ridiculous. To question Whit's motives and to trash our program is nothing more that a bunch of shallow people who want to bit*h about something. He simply said we asked them multiple times to wait until Wednesday. The hurricane was not projected to make landfall until Friday or Saturday. He never intended to be insensitive and to imply otherwise is absurd.
UVA made a point to put the article on their front page on the 247 site, along with the 82 negative comments about our school and the program. How hypocritical is that? Especially since they moved their game to Nashville, which means having to travel through the storm track to get there.
I am as concerned about everyone's safety as the next guy, but all this backlash is BS.
I hope the ECU team and staff manage to help their families and community by calling them on the phone from sunny Orlando for the next 10 days.
