One of the best recruiters in the nation and from all reports, a very good DL coach.

Don't tell him to cheat. No wink-wink or anything. Just tell him to get recruiting results. He will. 4 & 5 star kids - below the BAMA level but higher than we've been.

The formula is simple: if/when he finally gets caught cheating, fire him immediately.

The NCAA is about to set precedent that this act alone will get you off the hook.

I assume you are kidding....I don't pull for VT but respect the fact you don't cheat why bring in a coach that has been busted for cheating? He may have been Sabans scape goat but cheating is cheating.

Isn't here a side of you that wants to say, "If you are going to rewrite the rules in front of our eyes, we will follow them as you lay them out -- by how you enforce or refuse to enforce"? I'd very much like to see a school sue the uNCAA for something akin to unfair & biased selective enforcement.

I wouldn't recommend trying it. I have a bad feeling the same rules would not apply to VT.

If were to do what BAMA did (hire the guy with a history of cheating, but not direct him to cheat, and then fire him post haste when he inevitably does cheat), we would either get no more than they (which is to say, nothing) or we'd win the lawsuit later and I mean huge. Meanwhile we get the elite kids and the wins and the espn PR.

Given our clean history, we most emphatically would not get the DP or anything like it (they don't do that anymore anyhow).

All that said, I don't think i could ever really sign off on it. I'm venting. But I just hate what the uNCAA is doing to clean teams and for the dirty ones. Totally ass backwards, and I'd like to see them go away.

I agree that Bama should get smacked hard for cheating....using a coach as a scape goat shouldn't get you a pass. Nicky needs to have that I'm better than you look smacked right off his face!!,

First of all, I think we should send HR down to Bama to investigate the latest cheating accusation.
Secondly, I think we should warm up to the fact that no matter what HR finds Sabin will walk.
Third , I think the NCAA is too busy working night and day on the upcoming UNCC wrist slap that they cannot be bothered with common run of the mill cheating.
