I will answer any questions you may have about what you can expect in the Vols.
This is a serious thread. Take those shenanigans elsewhereHow will Tennessee overcome their QB problems? They just have a 4th year starter who only had 3000 total yards last year and 26 TDS and then three 4 stars behind him. Its a damn dumpster fire.
Hey bud, Jason left and I don't know these new guys. I've been checking this board and it's been so slow due to the time of year, I just haven't posted. Plus, I recently quit my job to drive a truck.SBW,where have you been young man?
Well, it's good to read that you are OK and I wish you well . Board is dead though. Got to be pretty bad when all you got is some UT people talking to themselves.Hey bud, Jason left and I don't know these new guys. Give me your opinions on some things.
How much of a crowd advantage will Tenn have?
Your score prediction?
What, if anything, concerns Vol fans most about this game?
This is a very fair assessment and I can't say I disagree with anything except our hybrid TE Bucky Hodges is huge with wr speed and if used correctly, is arguably more dangerous than Ford. To date, his potential hasn't been utilized appropriately but with El Fuego at the helm I have a feeling Hodges will be a major weapon. We'll see. Other than that, I agree on your score predictions. You guys have way more talent than we do with more depth so close at the half, and you guys pull away at the end of the 3rd. Our d will be worn out by then.Tennessee is expecting a large turnout and will sell all of the tickets it can get its hands on. There's a lot of energy surrounding this team so I'd expect the atmosphere to be heavily favoring the Vols, however, a new head coach will have VT feeling revitalized.
I'm thinking it will be a 14-17 point win for the Vols. Maybe 34-17 or 34-20. Sounds homerish, I know, but this team is stacked across the board. Potential All Americans at each level of the defense, Veteran QB who knows his strength, elite RB duo, solid WRs though they won't be our offensive focus, and the OL is really coming into their own.
Only concerns will be RSFr Drew Richmond likely getting his first start at LT, even though he was a 5 star. Can the WRs make plays instead of just catches? Can Cam Sutton and Justin Martin shut down Isiah Ford? Does Barnett start the season out strong and go for a career best season in terms of sacks? Only 12 away from Reggie White for all time sack record at UT after 2 years.
Not concerned about any Hokie outside of Ford
Agree with everything posted here with one very big exception; "Or we could win 35-0...just never know." We could win a close one if we play a terrific game and they don't.This is a very fair assessment and I can't say I disagree with anything except our hybrid TE Bucky Hodges is huge with wr speed and if used correctly, is arguably more dangerous than Ford. Or we could win 35-0....just never know. That's the cool thing about college football. Any given saturday.

The Vols have listed on their roster 4 punters and 4 kickers of various class rankings.
Could you opine on which are the likely starters and describe their effectiveness at each position or even their value added capability based on field position scenarios, etc.?
Trevor Daniel is the starting punter and he is phenomenal. I believe he was 3rd in the SEC in average at about 46 yards/punt. I have only seen one punter with his ability to pin it inside the 5 yard line and it was Dustin Colquitt. You should look up the punt at the end of the UGA game where the ball dives straight left out of bounds at the 1 yard line and tell me he isn't a miracle worker. Trevor is arguably the best player on the team.
Tommy Townsend was the backup punter but he is transferring because he won't see time over Trevor.
Aaron Medley is the starting kicker. He has been shaky from 45+. He absolutely has the talent and leg and almost made a game winner from 55 against Florida but just hasn't had the accuracy yet. He'll need to improve significantly if we want a chance at the playoffs.
You didn't ask about returners but it's the most explosive position on the field for us. Evan Berry was an All American returner and averaged 38 yards/return, almost 10 more than everyone else, with 3 TDs. Cam Sutton was the starting punt returner and killed it back there despite limited chances. All SEC returner with 2 TDs. Alvin Kamara got a few returns and was able to take one back and had one called back on a holding call. It almost doesn't matter who we put back there.
Dang, rooting for VT in this one? Nice. I guess it helps that we're playing the Evil SEC Empire...go VT by the way
I think he pulls for the good guys on a regular basis.Dang, rooting for VT in this one? Nice. I guess it helps that we're playing the Evil SEC Empire...
