I'm glad for Josh Jackson for getting the starting job at QB

He beat out the newcomers fair and square and he showed real class for staying with the program after the coaching change.

The starting quarterback situation is currently settled. Time to start locking in the support staff. Best of luck to Josh as the new starting quarterback for the Virginia Tech Hokies!

I've never seen him play a snap in my life. I'm sure there are some old youtube videos out there of high school highlights or spring game highlights, but I think I'll just wait until the first game and be surprised.

Actually, you could probably apply what I just said to 90% of the rest of the team as well. I guess I'm going to need to dig up a roster somewhere so I can start figuring out who some of these new faces are.

One cool thing about it, if Jackson works out, then we'll have a 4 year starter at QB. First one of those since Tyrod (even though he didn't really start as a freshman except when Glennon was hurt).

Not so sure about that. He was already in the system and more familiar with the system then the other contenders. Does not mean that the job is his for four years. He will have to earn it each year.

If he plays well enough this year to keep two young promising studs on the bench behind him, then he will have earned it for next year by a mile.

That's one pretty cool thing about having options. You're not stuck with Plan A if it's not working out.
