Just a few extra notes from Brent Pry and Chamarri Conner yesterday...

On wide receivers

Pry: "I think they have made strides. I think coach Mines has done a great job - there's talent in that unit. They've just got to start checking boxes on areas that they've got to get better at. There's talent, but that group has got to have a great camp.

On freshman offensive linemen

Pry: "Xavier [Chaplin], Johnny [Dickson], all those guys. I think those young guys do bring some depth as they continue to grow and develop."

Defensive end

Tyjuan Garbutt seems locked in for first chance to start on one side. But at the other... "It's gonna be competitive - we've got some great candidates. It's hard for linemen in two days of just spiders [helmets only]. But I like the guys that we've got there. We've got a chance right now to have four, possibly five. But right now we'll see.

Young linebackers

Pry: "The guy that stands out the most to me is Keonta Jenkins. He's a long guy, really good speed - particularly when you move him from safety to linebacker. He's got a lot of DB qualities and he's learning the linebacker traits that are going to be necessary. The spot that he plays for us is kind of a hybrid: he's got to have both sets in his toolbox. He's a guy that I'm most excited about as far as position changes.

Conner on Jaden Keller: "JK's a fast ballplayer. He's going to fly to the ball every time. I'm just loving that."
