Guys, this is a rather newer name in the mix, but keep an eye on Dutchtown (La.) three-star cornerback Coney Durr. He was offered by VT over the last few weeks, after Galen Scott officially made the transition from the Memphis staff, where he also offered Durr.
Durr committed to Minnesota last month, but has continued to look around a bit. He told me the only other two that he's still considering are VT and North Carolina. Durr visited the Tar Heels officially this past weekend, where he officially received an offer and said that he loved how the players and coaches there treated him. Durr was also on hand for UNC's basketball win over NC State.
Right now, Durr is planning on visiting VT officially this weekend. Scott and assistant coach Torrian Gray actually visited Durr today. Durr told me that they told him they like how versatile he is and could play corner, safety or nickel. "Virginia Tech is traditionally a DB school. They put a lot of guys in the league," Durr told me. He also likes the tradition that the Hokies have.
Durr plans on making a decision in the days following his visit this weekend, so that bodes well for VT. When I asked Durr about Minnesota, he told me, "It’s a good commitment. I committed to them for a reason." But he continues to take visits and VT is the last he'll take before announcing. No date is set, but expect it about a week from now. This one is tough to read, but we'll see how his Hokies official goes.
