Guys, I spoke earlier with Hampton (Va.) three-star lineman Elijah Conliffe, whom the Hokies offered today. That puts him at 15 total offers and it's a pretty impressive list.
Conlife said he "wondered why they were waiting." He camped at VT last July and said he thought he did well. But also on that visit, which is still the only time he's been to Blacksburg, Conliffe said he liked what he saw.
Assistant coach Zohn Burden is the lead recruiter for the Hokies. And as of now, VT has offered Conliffe as a lineman, as it hasn't decided which side they like him better on. Conliffe, though said he prefers defense, unless he were doing something like fullback, where he wouldn't always have to block.
Right now, it sounds like Conliffe has a bit of time before he makes any cuts. He told me he visited NC State last year multiple times, though that was mainly because that was at the time his only major offer. Conliffe said he's taking visits "to places I have my eye on." So coming up, he's going Saturday to Penn St, April 2 to Tennessee and is in the process of setting visits to Maryland, Virginia Tech and others. So this is a kid who could very well visit VT for the spring game. DEFINITELY one to keep an eye on.
Conliffe will also be participating April 17 in the Charlotte stop of the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour. So I'll get a much better look at him then.
