Guys, I spoke earlier with Woodrow Wilson (DC) ATH Sean Savoy, who was on his way home from Virginia Tech's junior day. Savoy was one of the offers handed out today by the Hokies. He also has offers from Maryland and Temple.

Today was the first time Savoy had been to Blacksburg. He said he likes VT's bowl streak and told me, "The facility is crazy." Savoy said they toured campus and also the new indoor facility.

Assistant coach Holmon Wiggins is the lead recruiter here, but Savoy said he also spoke with coach Justin Fuente in his office before he headed home and it was actually Fuente who made the offer. Savoy said both coaches told him they want a receiver to come in and make an impact as a true freshman and they believe he could be that guy. And Savoy also likes the track record Fuente and his staff have had at TCU and Memphis. Savoy also talked about that mixed with Bud Foster on defense and said, "They’re gonna be mean."

Maryland is the one to really watch right now. Savoy visited there last weekend and mentioned that he liked the possibility of going from the DMV to MD. That movement has been going on for a while and looks to continue with the new staff. There's just something to guys up there staying home maybe more so than other areas. But it's definitely not a foregone conclusion. He did visit VT today after all. Savoy also likes the look of the new offense, too.

Right now, Savoy doesn't have any other visits planned. He said he's heard a lot from Miami and Indiana of late, but isn't sure where he's visiting next. But any time you get a guy who visits VT, there's some interest there.
