Guys, I spoke a little earlier with Lake Brantley (Fla.) three-star running back Trace Christian, whom VT offered last week. He's up to 10 offers now, which also includes Miami, NC State and Kentucky.

Christian said he was offered by assistant coach Galen Scott. Christian was surprised by the offer, because he hadn't talked to the Hokies before that. He said Scott followed him on Twitter one day and the next day, he got the offer and called Scott to get it. Christian said they've connected a bit because they're both from Orlando. But so far, they haven't gotten to know each other very deeply yet.

But Christian already has called VT "a great program." He said he feels like the new staff will turn things around and that he has high interest in the Hokies.

For a while, Christian said he favored Kentucky. He had a strong relationship with assistant coach Chad Scott there, but that's changed since Scott left for North Carolina. Now, it sounds like the two Christian are most interested in are Florida State and Louisville. The latter has offered and that's where he's visiting this weekend. On Feb. 27, Christian is visiting FSU, which hasn't offered. If the Noles do offer, they're the clear leader, but I'm not sure they do.

Christian said he has not been to VT, but plans on visiting at some point this spring or summer. More of a wait and see here on what others do. Also depends on if Christian does make it to VT, but there is interest. No chance if he doesn't visit.
