The value they provide to the league in football is minuscule compared to the value they extract from the league in football, and they're "just another school" in basically every other sport. John Swofford has been getting just clowned in negotiations with ND athletic directors or the better part of a decade now (and the same outcomes in negotiations with TV partners, bowl games, etc. for even longer).
