VT's quarterback commit in the 2017 class will take a visit to the University of Oregon this weekend. He'd sort of always planned to take a couple trips, but given that it hadn't happened yet this Fall, seemed like it might not come to fruition.
He's continued to say all the right things about VT, but you still have to be scared when a quarterback-centric school like Oregon (albeit one that hasn't been able to recruit a good high school quarterback in ages, and is having a horrible year) gets a shot at him. Now, there's a pretty good chance that even a Stanford team that's also struggling this season blows the Ducks out this weekend. That would be a good thing for the Hokies - especially since it might be the beginning of the end for Oregon coach Mark Helfrich - if they need the assistance.
It does seem most likely that he ends up a Hokie, and with limited drama. However, the fact that Hooker is looking around at least a bit will be something for the coaches to keep an eye on.
