Crozet (Va.) Western Albemarle offensive lineman Luke Tenuta has been a regular sight in Blacksburg already this Fall, and he's not done seeing Virginia Tech's campus. Virginia Tech offered him Sept. 10, and he's been to two of the Hokies' three home games since.
He saw VT lose to defending national champion Clemson, then returned this past weekend for the game against North Carolina. The latter was important for two reasons: first, VT dominated one of his other finalists (West Virginia and UCF are still in the hunt, as well). Second, the Hokies were able to blow out a conference team while still displaying that help is direly needed on the offensive line through the recruiting cycle. I guess you could chip in a third factor: it wasn't his last time seeing Virginia Tech this Fall.
"It was definitely a great trip," Tenuta told HokieHaven.com. "It was another unofficial, and I will definitely be taking an official."
While he doesn't have a date set for that official visit, there's something to be said for the amount of time he's spending in Blacksburg.
Tenuta is listed as a defensive end - the position he preferred as a youngster - but all four of his finalists are looking at the 6-8, 255-pounder primarily as an offensive tackle. He'd bee a good fit for the Hokies there, with a frame to fill out and a couple years to redshirt and get used to Justin Fuente's offense. At this point, his recruitment feels like it's trending more toward a when rather than an if the Hokies will be welcoming him. He does still hope to see West Virginia and UCF, but they seemed to be running third and fourth already, and VT has done nothing but impress during his trips to campus.
When he makes it back on the Hokies' dime, commitment watch could be on.
