VT hosted a few visitors in the 2019 class and beyond Saturday. I'll have interviews with just a couple of them today (thanks to my policy of not bugging kids on a holiday), but look for the rest over the course of the week:

Hellams is one who didn't tell me he'd be on campus prior to simply showing up, but his trip is a big one. He's been to VT multiple times since February, and as a Rivals100 kid... well, that says a lot about his interest. He could be the big, physical outside guy to be complemented by speedier slots (a couple potentials are already in the class, of course), and repeat visits say a lot.

I really like this kid's ability, though I'm not sure he's a sure-thing offer in this class (well, obviously he's not, or the staff would have offered him by now). He plans to return for a camp in the Summer to earn that offer - and by that time, the staff will have a better idea of how the rest of the recruiting board is going to shake out, too.

Rawlings doesn't have major offers yet (Howard and Toledo are the two for him), but I think they'll come in due time. He has the size to develop into a bigtime tight end, and has the look of a guy who is just reaching the stage where he begins to physically mature. He also plans to return for camp this Summer, and I could see an offer coming through at that time if he performs to expectations.

Duenkel has visited multiple times, and has made it no secret that Virginia Tech is a school he really likes. In terms of potential 2019 scholarship offers, though, I think he's probably not first on the list (Georgia's Anthony Rodriguez, who visited the previous weekend, is), so we'l have to wait and see if Duenkel plays himself up there, if he's willing to take a preferred scholarship option - or if the staff decides to take a kicker at all.

Stay tuned for more on visitors coming up.
