I don’t think it’s much of a secret that he’d intended to commit on his June official visit (or at the very least was mulling that over), but with the dead period extended, the timeline for that trip will have to be adjusted.

Hokies snag grad transfer Evan Fairs

I would expect limited contributions (if you couldn't get on the field much for Kansas, you ain't beating out the Hokies' receivers), but more depth is always welcome.

Of course, you'd like to see that depth built up through recruiting - and guys who can develop for multiple years of future contributions - but if the scholarships are there, might as well use 'em on guys who can provide that depth.

A ton of movement in the past few weeks, but I think this is a group where the staff has the opportunity to land some pretty good players. Perhaps not the guys who started the cycle as the top target on the board, but I don't think they'd be disappointed in some of the names with whom they could be considered the top school:

There was a time in the not-so-distant past that VT wouldn't have made a final 15 for Leigh, so this is a sign of progress.

Of course, as you can tell by some of the other names on that list, winning big on the field this Fall will go a long way toward convincing him he can have the on-field experience he's looking for while sticking close to home.

Seeing his PFF numbers on twitter, and knowing he's got elite size and is a 4.4 guy...how is he not a lock to go first round (assuming he continues to play as well as he did last year)? I'm seeing him as like a mid second round projection, and he produces as much as anybody else in football and will surely test well. What am I missing?
