Commitment date set for this coming Monday at 12pm.

Question for Tim,

Why is his rating so low? Every other service has him a 4 star basically. 81 or 4 star on ESPN, 92 on 247 and an 89 on On3. Only a 5.5 on Rivals and 31st in the state. Curious how come there is such a large gap. Thank you

Question for Tim re: A.J. Brand

72.3% completion accuracy
2,900 passing yards, 45 TDP
1100+ rushing yards, 17 TD, 13.3 ypc

Those are stats you often see in 4 star or even 5 star rated QB prospects. What are the factors that bring Brand down to mid tier 3 star status?? Level of competition? Measurables? Mechanics? His film looked impressive, but I'm no expert in talent evaluation. Just curious what the "experts" are not seeing from Brand that result in a ranking that seems to belie his on field production.

Recruiting In-state four-star DT Christian Evans details commitment to Virginia Tech

Hello, Virginia Tech fans! My name is Ryan O'Bleness and I've recently taken over as a part-time Northeast recruiting analyst for the national team with Rivals. I also cover Michigan State for Spartans Illustrated.

I was able to catch up with four-star defensive tackle Christian Evans before his announcement and I got some really strong quotes from him about his decision to join Virginia Tech. Parker Thune also helped out with quotes.

"Another reason why I picked Tech is my great relationship with their staff and my background with them," Evans explained. "VT was the first school to really start recruiting me, during my sophomore year. One of the first college games I went to was when Virginia Tech played Georgia Tech in 2022. It was a great game-day atmosphere despite the otherwise poor weather. Throughout my recruitment, no other staff has made me feel as well as Tech's staff has. I trust them and can't wait to suit up for them."

I personally love this get for the Hokies. It is big to keep him home and it means a lot to him being a Virginia kid.
