Clemson fan visiting Blacksburg first time

My buddies and I are traveling up there for our game this September and haven't been to Blacksburg before. I wanted to pick y'all's brains for best hotels to stay for traveling fans and any places to see while there both on campus and restaurants, bars etc. Any help is appreciated. Looking very forward to hearing some Metallica.

Best hotel is Homewood Suites by Hilton. It's right off I 81 in Christiansburg. About 9 miles from VT. There's a Cracker Barrel across street. McDonald's and Hardees about half mile down the road.

I would make hotel arrangements now or you maybe in Roanoke or Wytheville. Be prepared to pay for 2 nights. Blacksburg offers lots of college bars downtown with the typical bar food. How long are you going to be in the burg?
