The Orange have exactly the offense that gives Bud and his D fits. This very likely will be a high scoring game that we expected at UNC. This is a trap-game. Hope the team isn't looking past this game and thinking of Miami already.

Syracuse's offense in a nutshell...

-- Scored 33 on a Colgate D that averages giving up 34 pts/game (2nd fewest pts Colgate has given up all year)
-- Scored 28 on a Louisville D that averages giving up 26 pts/game
-- Scored 20 on a USF D that averages giving up 26 pts/game
(tied for 2nd fewest pts USF has given up all year)
-- Scored 31 on a UConn D that averages giving up 24 pts/game
-- Scored 33 on a Notre Dame D that averages allowing 30 pts/game (outside of hurricanes, 2nd fewest pts that ND has given up all year)
-- Scored 9 on a Wake Forest D that averages allowing 18 pts/game (hurricane assisted)

VT's D allows 15.6 pts/game.

It will be a minor miracle if Syracuse can get into the 20s in this one. That would really be the best their O has done all year. IMO, the more likely scenario is that Syracuse can't get the VT front 4 blocked and they will have trouble scoring at all, but we'll see how it goes.

One game at a time. The first time you stop respecting your opponent is when Mr. Murphy will set you straight.

HR6 is a long-time poster here. He is a valued member of the Hokie team. Everyone knows his opinions that there are three teams - Alabama, Virginia Tech, and everyone else. So even though his opinions are out there sometimes we all still luv the guy.

Everybody's opinion is valued here. My response to HR6 was tongue and check (the smiley face was the hint). My point was that it does not matter what anyone thinks, the former Big East teams (like us!!!) are here to stay and everybody has to accept that.

And, as hokiemtc pointed out, I was one of the very first ones to make this site 'home' even though I didn't actually register until a couple of years later. Still, I have been here longer than most posters have and know HR6 to be one of us. I needle him time to time just like I used to do to MoneyGirl, who I miss dearly.

HR is OK in my book. I think he adds a whole lot to this board and I knew that poke was kidding.

My bad. Missed the smiley face. Sometimes I try to read too fast and block out extra things like smiley faces. Was not meaning to slight anyone. Sorry.

Aaaah, the day will come when Sabin retires . I think he is 65 now. We should send HR a sympathy card.

HR6 is consistent in his opinions and is one person you can count on.

We will use the UNC example to teach our kids to be ready to play this Saturday so don't worry.

I predict a business-like @$$ kicking this weekend and a lop-sided win for VT.
