I've spoken with Jairus Brents' godfather and the two of them are planning to take a visit to VaTech tomorrow. Brents is one of the fastest players in the country.
The vibe I get from his camp right now is that VaTech leads due to the bond between him and defensive backs coach Galen Scott, the opportunity to play early based on the Hokies' DB depth chart, combined with VT's reputation of getting their defensive backs drafted.
VaTech will have to contend with FSU if they offer, and the latest word I've received from FSU sources is that defensive coordinator Charles Kelly will be traveling to Kentucky to evaluate him in person within the next two weeks to determine if FSU will pull the trigger.
Regardless of what happens with FSU, even if he commits, I expect VaTech to keep pushing fro Brents all the way through to NSD.
Here is a video I threw together with some training footage of the 5-foot-10, 180-pound corner.
