well, that's not enough. We shoot our own foot in other ways as well. It's painful to watch a game you turn over 5 times and it's still on... Our special team plays definitely are weak nowadays.

Turnovers and penalties have prevented VT from making this a close game or even winning it. The offense can't convert on 3rd and short and the defense is being forced to play too many minutes. Overall, a performance that deserves a loss.

We were all too optimistic about our O being ready for a big athletic team like TN. We'll get better with time and the mistakes should lesson.

Turnovers and penaltys are part of football, but if VT had held onto ball and not committed stupid penaltys, this game would not have been close.

True, but the fact that we committed so many of both tells you how far we still are away from being the kind of team we think we can be.

There's still a long way to go on this journey, and there are a ton of bad habits our players have picked up over the years that's going to take a while to drive out.

We also need a new design in uniforms. Those were ugly uniforms we wore. They were so ugly, they might have contributed to the fumbles.
