Virginia Tech's June of visits is over - with a key one slipping under the radar over a week ago. Perry (Ga.) 2022 wide receiver Daequan Wright took an official visit over the June 18 weekend with little fanfare.

He was at Georgia Tech this past weekend for an unofficial. But sources close to his recruitment indicate that he'd like to make a commitment
very soon, and that Virginia Tech leads the way. All that may be standing between the unranked wideout and a Hokie pledge is talking things through with the staff to make sure prospect and program are on the same page (and of course, there's not necessarily a guarantee that they are).
Although he stands 6-4 and 222 pounds, he managed to slip under the radar when he was offered by the Orange and Maroon at the end of April, and his low profile continues to this day. However, with the commitment of another tall outside receiver no longer an option (with Caleb Douglas's commitment to Baylor), it's likely that the coaching staff increases its interest in the Peach State prospect and is willing to accept a commitment from him.
Folks on
Wright's end of things indicate that he'd like to come off the board as soon as today, so this developing situation could find its conclusion very quickly. It's worth noting that he's serious enough about VT that I've submitted a FutureCast in the Hokies' favor even though a final decision has not been made about whether he's a take.
