If you look at the raw numbers, things are pretty scary, honestly. However, I have to think the committee is a little more lax in considering context when making selections, and VT should feel OK:

Nonetheless, VT should be playing in the postseason, and if you look at this largely as a tune-up game for the NCAA Tournament (albeit one that maybe puts the Hokies on the wrong side of a 7/10 seedline rather than perhaps the right side of 8/9), there are lessons learned and plenty to look forward to.

What is the probability that he returns to the basketball program next year? Or is he "done" at VT already? Next year's squad will have a glaring hole at point guard with Bede's decision not to return for his "free" Covid year. Cattoor can play the point in a pinch and Pedulla is coming in as a true freshman, but those two choices are not optimal. Bamisile and Maddux seem most suited for off the ball roles. And Cone does not seem to have point guard skills or mentality. What is your take Tim on next year's point guard situation?
