He says he enjoyed the visit a lot - considered it eye-opening, even (my word, not his) - so this puts VT seriously back in the mix. Part of a swing that was initially more focused on getting to UVa and North Carolina.
I shied away from giving a prediction in the story because this feels like a random-number generator of a contest, but it shouldn't surprise you that I see some mechanisms through which the Hokies could have a fun, cruising romp. (Unfortunately also some mechanisms for the opposite to happen):

It didn't really make sense as a rule, as its only result was to make the league less competitive against others. The thought was that you wouldn't have conference members poaching from each other's rosters... but when teams from other conferences could still do it, it didn't make sense to tell players "you can't go to a school in our conference, but can go help others build up their talent base."
