Reading what the players said in the press conference, Herbert mentioned getting pushed from teammates for Heisman. this is very interesting for several reasons

what's intriguing is the fact the locker room believes they have a candidate. If someone has thought about it then someone thinks it could be true. This adds motivation across the entire locker room. Something we have not seen in many many years. This will certainly keep pushing the OL to keep up the momentum.

Suppose he does keep putting up these types of numbers? He would be a legit Heisman contender. How awesome would that be?

Then there’s recruiting. Having a hopeful in this program will get more TV exposure. Selling our brand. Puts us right on the map for recruits abroad. We have several 4*s in the state. This has to be a way to get back to nabbing top instate recruits. Not just the RB position.

There’s a great chance Herbert can make a Heisman statement this weekend with a top 25 matchup.

He doesn’t know much about any schools on his list yet he said he is planning to wait until after the season, likely into 2021 (he plays basketball too), to make his decision.
