I heard many UK fans asking that question entering the game, while standing in line waiting on the gates to open. Most VT fans, had no answer to the question, and it just tickled the UK fans silly thinking VT teams have a Turkey mascot, a Hokie name that no one knows what it means.

Silvers lining for VT are that he still gets to remain involved in the game, and the on-field impact is minimal, as he'd played only 16 defensive snaps this year.

Any additions to the 2020 hoops class are more likely to be bigs than another guard, but VT is keeping lines of communication open:

Won't likely have an impact on the 2020 class (and perhaps not even a major one on his own 2021 group), but certainly can't hurt to have the QB of the future out networking a bit:

Thank you for a lot of great memories. I’ve been fortunate enough to see his whole career at Tech. He brought a new meaning to mean aggressive defense. As time changed and the rules started favoring the offense buds defenses still went after it. You’ll never be forgotten. Welcome to the world of retirement. It’s one of the best things invented.
