Ok, you can stop laughing and clean whatever is needed. Follow me here. Lets say in the last 4 games Coach Fu goes 3-1. That's 7-5. Coupled with a good recruiting cycle. That is improvement from last year. There are a lot of Power Five vacancies. Most are better jobs than VPI head coach. LSU, USC, TCU, and possible PSU, Florida, and Cincinnati. We need to be honest here, Luke Fickell or Ed Orgeron isn't going to come here. I read that Tech likes Sonny Dykes. I think he's a good coach. He's a Texas guy. TCU seems like a better fit. If the powers that be, don't see a coach out there that would be an improvement, why would they? It isn't just the buyout of Fuente. Its the millions after that for a Head coach, new staff, and assistances.
So I think, at the end of the season, before the bowl game. Whit Babcock will announce that he still has confidence in coach Fu and will extend his stay by one or two more years. He cant just keep coach Fu without the extension. It would kill the team in recruiting. Hopefully they lower the buyout and keep a tight leach. This how i see it playing out, Because this cost less money. ok you laugh now,
