Guys, I spoke earlier with Christiansburg (Va.) athlete Xavier Kane. No offers yet, but this is a local kid to keep an eye on.
So first off, Kane has some connections with VT. His uncles Sydney and Donald Wayne Snell and his cousins Brendon Motley and Zach Snell (Graduated) all played or are playing at VT. Also notable is that they are cousins with the Curry's (Stephs mom is a Snell) and Radford basketball great Doug Day.
Kane said he's heard from VT, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee and Maryland so far. He attended the Hokies games against Duke and Pittsburgh last season as a recruit. Kane said he's met coach Justin Fuente and offensive coordinator Brad Cornelsen just briefly. Overall, VT has told him they want him to attend a camp this summer and they'd go from there. The Hokies have an eye on him, but it's still early.
No junior days or other visits planned right now, but Kane said he wants to get to Tennessee and Georgia at some point. He just competed in Adidas' Showcase in Atlanta. Honestly, this is a kid I think will be a three-star guy for now. Kane is a good athlete and being local, he's definitely worth keeping an eye on.
