He's a teammate of QB commit Devin Farrell (and the teammates at Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton High who are also Hokie targets). The coaching staff has already reached out and let Nickel know that he's going to be pursued as heavily as anyone. Obviously the goal here is to get him on the same visit to campus - tentatively June 4-6 - that Farrell will be on. Nothing scheduled yet, though.
I wouldn't suspect much comes of it, but VT showed interest in little bro Jake (who ended up at Colorado) after not giving Max much attention out of high school. Might want a second crack at it, and of course offensive line depth and top-end quality are in a questionable spot going into 2021:
