As a fan of another team who has also followed VT football since 1992, I’m wondering what the pulse of the fan base is with regard to Coach Fuente. It’s not easy to replace a legend like Coach Beamer, and it is a given there is going to be pressure on the successor. When Fuente was named the head coach, I thought this would be a home run hire. It still may be, but I’m starting to wonder. Transfers and injuries along with some uncharacteristic poor play on defense hasn’t helped Fuente’s cause. What does Hokie Nation think?

Kids from out of the country are often blank slates at the beginning of their recruiting processes, so the fact that VT is in the door early and that he plays his high school ball in-state can only be a good start:

Still hearing that Duke seem more likely than VT, but there's also confidence on the Hokies' end of things.

Would absolutely love to see him (finally) find success in the NFL. Great player and great guy who really deserves it.

New Virginia Tech football offer: Jordan Moore

You'll recall I was impressed by him when I saw his team play Jalen Hampton's. He's not gonna be a fit for every team in the country, but I like his potential as a slot and special teams guy. He also has a much better arm than he'll get credit for, and can be a trick-play threat (though listed at an extremely generous 6-1, he's not a Power-5 quarterback).

Some ugly numbers in there (particularly on OL), but I think you can start to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

If the bye week helps those young OL come together a bit, there's a lot of upside on offense - and the defense's performance was mostly fine.
