The Virginia Tech legacy and four-star hoops recruit from Richmond Trinity Episcopal has gone quiet since his visit (to be fair, he's always been more of a quiet kid), so I touched bases with some folks close to the VT program, as well as those around the Rivals network to find out what they're hearing on one of the weekend's keys visitors.

From the VT end of things, everything went as well as it could on an official visit. We've obviously seen many situations over the years where "did everything we could" hasn't been enough - and this could end up being one - but given that it certainly didn't enter the weekend as any sort of lost cause, the Hokies are right into the mix.
The problem, of course, is that even though it wasn't a lost cause, they were certainly behind Duke by some margin. Having a better visit to Blacksburg than he had to Durham (and VT folks are confident that's the case) could close the gap some without vaulting the Hokies into the lead in his recruitment. It does sound like the Devils still have an edge, albeit now a tiny one.
VT will be in-home today, and Duke at some point in the next few days (it wasn't completely nailed down when I checked with our Duke folks). It does sound like those two schools are going to be the finalist-finalists: trips to Michigan and NC State sounding much less likely now.
The timeline for the endgame of his recruitment is up in the air, but could become much more clear after these in-home visits from the VT and Duke staffs. We should know a lot more about how this one turns out in the coming days.
