I like the Hokies' chances in this one, though I wouldn't rule out UVa. Expecting good (2019) news the day after the traditional 2018 signing period begins.

Is he transferring and was he one of the expected attrition group? I assume Hendon Hooker is ready to be a legit back up slash wild turkey or starter. Really hope JJ is gaining a little speed. I think he will be dangerous if he gets a bit quicker. Just a Wednesday night thought with some drinks.

Lunardi updated his projections this morning. VT is now listed first in his "Next Four Out" category, putting us five spots away from his "Final Four In" A win over ND this weekend would be huge!

Frankly, I don't like the move (as I said earlier), even though it opens up a scholarship. A healthy program keeps guys who are happy being backups. The Hokies are still working toward that, but depth is suddenly a little risky there:

Caleb Griffin out of Illinois visited over the weekend. With the Hokies' needs at kicker (which are low as long as one of Brian Johnson and Jordan Stout can handle the duties full-time), I think he stays in the Midwest.

The source may be exaggerating, but if so, only slightly. Fuente and crew plan to do everything they're legally allowed to do to reel in a cornerstone piece of the 2018 class.

I believe CFB was effective in closing the deal when he went to see recruits. However, he was hardly ever the "Lead Recruiter" for the recruits. It appears this is all different now, in that the HC MUST be an effective "Lead Recruiter", for the higher ranked recruits. How does a HC manage this vast time investment, and still run a team, keep a family together, and make the public appearances needed to support the school. We are often critical of recruiting, but there is more to it than meets the eye.

Alabama offered 2019 Rivals250 WR Isaiah Hazel on Friday and he was very excited about what coach Locksley told him. Hazel biggest contenders right now are still Maryland, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia and he hopes to visit these three schools as well as Alabama, Clemson, and Michigan this spring.
