If we do not get any size in the near future, we will never do well in ACC basketball.
We get hammered inside, or are forced to overcommit inside and cant get back out. Very hard to watch VT basketball against other decent college basketball teams.
Sy has fallen off the face of the earth. Blackshear wont fix everything alone, if he even returns. Scary how small we will be next season. Our next heaviest player will be a guard at 220 lbs. SCARY!
I'm not positive that I'll be able to watch - these internet-only games are brutal (how does the ACC have such a bad media deal? Sad!) - but if I can, I'll be chiming into the live thread here, as well.
I'll state for the record that there's a decent chance a big year turns into better chances for some of the top guys, but I didn't want it to be too pie-in-the-sky, but rather a potentially realistic class.
After watching JJ last year during the spring game, personally I don't see a lot of drop off in talent at all. Game experience most definitely but the talent is there. I also gotta believe that Hooker will push hard for that starting job. Enrolling early was huge for us. We still may not see him due to a redshirt (If JJ does indeed win the job and stays healthy) but I feel good about the QB situation coming into the season. I hope to see more RPO's with who ever is back there. As weird as it may sound I think JJ will have a better run game than Evans. If true then that means we open up the run game and take some heat off the QB having to throw all the time. Last year we had no run game. Hopefully this year will be different since we have the true mobile QB in JJ. Also, does Farley get a look at QB or nah?

Im ready to get this 2018 class going. Seems there are a lot of hurdles to overcome out of the gates but I gotta believe we do. With all the new staff in Blacksburg, Im sure they haven't gained all the trust in the world with a majority of the schools yet. I wonder how much better relationships are this year than in years past. Don't we have a have someone who keeps up with the relations or nah? Id like to know more about that if that's case. I thought Billy Hite was doing something along the lines of keeping VT in good relations with schools? Anyways I cant wait to start seeing commits come our way and that first big fish that makes the call.

As an update, PJ Horne, a 6-foot-6 wing out of Tift County High in Georgia, has committed. While he is under the radar, he is the type that has excelled early on in Blacksburg. Tough, athletic and can play practically three spots. Should be a good one for Buzz and gang.
