Looks like you guys got 3 good early commits in basketball. Here is what our basketball guy said about them...

The Langley fraternal twins, Kobe and Keyshaun, are both point guards for High Point Southwest Guilford and CP3. They are quick-on-quick and terrors on defense when turned loose. Keyshaun seems more solid on the outside jumper, but Kobe is flashier. They might stick with VT because it was always going to be hard for a school to offer them both.

NC State offered Mack last June and he is a 6-6, 265-pound post guy at Charlotte Christian. He is developing a face-up game out to the 3-point land. He isn't a great athlete, but has superb hands, passing skills and hoops IQ. He plays for Team United.

What's separated VT from the top of the ACC the last decade has been a lack of quality bigs. It's easy to recruit quick guards...but where are the bigs?

In college ball, having a set of really good guards can get you a long way...but it never quite gets you all the way. At some point in time, you need a significant post presence.

I found some workout videos of Mack on the internet. He's no leaper but he'll hold his own with his bulk and good hands and feet in the paint. He has nice touch inside with his back to the basket and outside shooting. He'll spend a lot of time at the foul line making easy shots.

Update: after seeing the same and extra workout videos of Mack I am more impressed.

He's only a sophomore this year and is still young. At 6'7" and 250 lbs he probably will grow a lot more. Most kids his age that are that tall are very awkward and their feet are like cinder blocks. Not Mack.

When at rest he looks gangly, but throw him the ball with his back to the basket, and depending on where his defender is, he knows how to take his first step either way and go to the rim.

He should be a great Big for VT if we can keep him.
