A second FCS opponent is extremely unexciting (and doesn't count toward bowl eligibility - and in the event of a great season could be the sort of thing that would keep an undefeated team out of the playoff when there are other options), but at least we know who it'll be:

I don't think a whole lot will come of it - he's still planning to sign with Arkansas - but it's good to keep those lines of communication open, at the very least.

I actually like the chemistry we've seen, but it'd have been nice to have more frontcourt options:

The impact: Clarke and Nolley won't play in 2018-19

(If Clarke does indeed return next year - which is no guarantee - I actually think not having him is worth it this season).

First losing season in 26 years. Fuentes does not have what it takes to get the job done. $hit for brain goes for it on 4th down when he should not have, and does not when he should have. The sooner he is gone the better.

Clarke will be out of eligibility, so his Hokies career is over with. Nolley will redshirt and presumably be ready to compete next year.

The expected outcome for both situations by this point, but certainly leaves VT with only the (limited) frontcourt depth we've already seen.

Bronco said the goals for the Hoo's were to beat the Hokies and win their Bowl Game.
Well, the first one didn't work out so well and I'm betting the second one won't either.
The Hoo's had their best season in years due in large part to the their Q'Back that they found on Craigslist out in Arizona. But their season will be a failure because their Coach set goals that were not realistic.
On another note, kudos to Whit for salvaging the streak by working out the deal with Marshall to play the 12th game.
