It always felt like the Hokies could have sealed the deal for the 2024 safety if they'd wanted to, but for whatever reason they didn't make that push (presumably just because they feel good about other safeties they like more).

2024 OL from Pennsylvania. If the Hokies consider him a take (I think they might, but they would prefer he not move so quickly - and from his perspective, locking down a spot is part of why he wants to get it out of the way quickly), it'll be a VT/Cuse battle:

He's been to Blacksburg several times and Syracuse a couple times recently... but I think the Orange have put more effort into his recruitment and may win out.

Recruiting rumor mill: Another busy weekend in the books

Apologies, never hit the publish button on this one Thursday, and had kids home sick from school yesterday so didn't realize it. Visits were Thursday-Friday this week (some stragglers may come through today), so mostly these are finished:

Tim, my apologies upfront for the following reference to a competitor’s site, but I have to say this.

if anyone follows the Hokies baseball team, I would encourage you to go to the UVA site on 24/7 Sports and go their Board page. Read the posts on yesterday and today’s losses to the Hokies. It is the most pathetic display from a bunch or whiners I have read In awhile. They find every excuse to rationalize why they lost and continually belittle everything associated with Tech. The most comical thing was how bush league our ballpark is. The Hokies hit 4 homers and 4 triples today, UVA hit no homers and no triples. But they kept referring to our home runs as pop ups in other ballparks. while not realizing they couldn’t hit one out.

The Hokies would have taken a commitment from him (and to an extent, still wanted him), but the relationship was primarily with Joe Rudolph, so his departure meant that it wasn't a priority. I think it's... not the biggest miss, even if the staff would've liked to have him.

I'll be honest, I was practically blown away by how good it was in comparison to his underclassman film. You don't realize how much a guy has improved until you watch the whole reel. I'd put him as a 5.7 three-star if I were the rankings man.

Senior film review: Gabriel Arena

A good find by the staff, and a really good player in the future, IMO.

Would anyone like to discuss Hokies basketball? The women are ranked 9th and are undefeated. The men are not ranked and are 7-1. Play 18th ranked UNC on Sunday. Both solid teams. Not sure why no one posts anything.

The Heels weren’t as bad as missing the tournament implied, but hoo boy is this about as big a blow as you can get:

I don't have a FutureCast in, in part because there's plenty to sell about each program. My suspicion (I have not confirmed with Hokie sources) is that the strength of his VT relationship took a big hit with Rudolph's departure, and he'll pick one of the other two, but there's a almost whole week to dig in and touch base with folks.
