This is a bigger deal than it seems (for a 5-11, 240-pound offensive lineman). Scott is the son of Bishop Sullivan Catholic coach Chris Scott, which could/should help the Hokies re-establish the inroads at that school - and perhaps the 757 writ large - that have faded in recent years.
I think the level of attrition in the offseason is a bit overstated, because it disregards that VT needed to have much of it to even fit in the 2019 signees, but certainly there's a need rto replaced departed talent with upgrades:
Should be a decent little list - one additional advantage of waiting until most schools are a week or two into their sessions to get started - and I'll put together a comprehensive one later in the week if the size of the list justifies it:
As I said all this past week, I suspect he might have given it a go if VT had made it to the conference semifinals, so he's been pretty close for a while. That extra week to rest should have him feeling pretty good come tournament time Thursday or Friday, though.
