Out of the Tidewater. They're being pretty aggressive with early offers in the region (as they should - though obviously that wasn't enough in holding onto Tayvion Land, for example):
...as I work through film review, words cannot describe how bad every aspect of ACC Network game broadcasts are. Currently trying to figure out what happened at the beginning of a play that we missed the majority of so we could look at a wide angle view of the East stands.
Just super-frustrating, and while it will probably be better when the actual television network launches (as opposed to the affiliate/syndication-based and Extra), this is a flat-out-horrible TV product, and ESPN and the conference itself should be embarrassed to put it out week after week.
I just saw on a recruiting web site that my Gamecocks are no longer recruiting him...I really wanted this kid out of Shelby NC as Shelby is near Gaffney, SC and produces a good number of players...He is much closer to Columbia than Chapel Hill, Standford, or Blacksburg so I guess we have dropped a bomb...
Since we are out of the running...I would love to see him in Hokie land...Stanford is a long ways from home and Chapel Hill is a dumpster fire which will take many years to correct...
He could be on a winning team in choosing the Hokies....let's hope y'all reel him in...
I keep seeing where is might be the Gamecocks and Hokies in Jacksonville...Gator Bowl...
I would love to see that...Go Gamecocks, Go Hokies!!1
His past few games haven't been great, so in a vacuum, benching him is fair. When the benching comes so you can play Nathan Peterman (who, it must be noted, is Nathan Peterman), it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
Justin Fuente said they'll get more info bout the stats of Vinny Mihota and Mook Reynolds (hurt late against Pitt) today. Sounds like they'd be questionable right now, with time for their official statuses to be better or worse than that come the report Thursday.
Jackson is a nice kid and a real competitor but he is not the answer at quarterback if we want the program to progress. The last few games have made that very evident. As has been the case for the last 4-5 games , instead of improving as a passer he is regressing. His completion percentage has steadily gone down even against weak defenses like Pitt's. He panics when someone is around him in the pocket and throws passes up for grabs and consistently overthrows or under throws open receivers. He was very lucky today that he didn't have several more passes intercepted. In addition he is too slow and not nimble enough to deal with the pass rushes presented by good teams or be a real threat as a runner. We were very fortunate to win today because the defense rose up after giving up another long gain at a critical time. I suspect it is too late to change horses now although I would like to see A.J. Bush get more of a chance to see what he can do. He has shown he is capable of passing effectively if given the chance. Let's just hope we can keep Hooker healthy and ready for next year because he has the skill set we need to make the next step to winning the division and conference.
