A recruitment that was expected to end last month will now go into the fall. Virginia Tech's position has not fallen, however, especially after last month's visit. He explains in the article below:
Putting this together, it was pretty dismaying to see a lot more guys from Louisiana Tech than Virginia Tech in training camps. The good news? Most of VT's guys are from way back (the DeAngelo Hall types), or much more recently (or Tyrod Taylor), so the talent looks like it's picking back up to where it should be in order to put players into the NFL, and of course succeed on the field.
With two defensive tackles already in the mix, VT would still take a player of his caliber, but I don't know that they'll put in the resources recruiting him hard enough to win out (with needs at other positions still remaining).
Is anyone else getting notifications on their phones or on the app for posts from Jason Stamm from last year? I keep getting them over and over and idk why. Is there a way I can fix this?
Saw last night that VT offered Cole Beck. Haven't seen much tape on him other than what he posted in his top 5 video on twitter. Why did the staff wait so long to offer him? Does this affect VT, or do we still have a shot at landing him? @TimSullivan what do you think?
As you guys know by now, I really like this kid (a lot like Caleb Steward, but a little faster and with more natural running back ability). This broke late enough last night that I haven't caught up with him, but depending on what the coaches tell him in terms of a role in the class, I have a hard time seeing them miss on him.
He hasn't visited, and the Hokies are only looking at the top defensive tackle targets left on the board (or more likely not bringing in another DT at all), so you can bet this one doesn't go their way.
Is there anymore news on Kalon since the BBQ? I know recruiting is in a dead period right now. Just haven't heard much on him since the BBQ. Hope he still winds up being a Hokie!
A hit, no doubt (the coaches were expecting him to have a big role), but in the long run, better for a true freshman - who can then redshirt - who was learning a new position than somebody who's already proven or has already used his redshirt year.
