Prayers Needed

I know this is a sports board and I'm the pesky Hoo that want go away, but I need your help. My beautiful Hokie wife (Melody) has a brain tumor, they are optimistic that it is benign but we want know for sure until it is removed. Not sure yet when they will remove so it's an anxious time for our family. Your prayers would be much appreciated. Thanks

Film review: defense v. Boston College

Mostly dominant, with a few major lapses... you know, the usual:

I do think the big lapses are becoming less frequent (though some are a natural tendency of the defense's aggression - you live with a couple hoping that they can't strike on the overpursuit), but the ones that do happen are quite big indeed.

Rivals100 DL has unofficial visit to VT locked in

Story: Rivals100 DL Rick Sandidge gives the latest

Rivals100 defensive lineman Rick Sandidge doesn’t intend to rush through the final stages of his recruitment. The Concord, N.C. star is still working with a top seven of Virginia Tech, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Penn State, Michigan, and Florida. He has gone to three different games so far this year but is still planning out his official visits. In the video below, Sandidge talks about every school in his top seven (and one that isn't), reviews his previous visits, and goes over his future visit plans.

Nice view of a play we've seen VT run quite a bit this year

A zone-blocked play up front with the tight end (H-back) lead blocking for the running back:

Of course, VT doesn't have a Saquon Barkley (but neither are their tight ends as absolutely terrible at blocking as Penn State's Mike Gesicki).

5-star KJ Henry gives the latest

The latest with Rivals250 LB Dax Hollifield

Story: Rivals250 LB Dax Hollifield breaks down his recent & upcoming visits

Hollifield took an official visit to Florida State for the N.C. State game and to South Carolina for the Arkansas game. He will be at North Carolina this weekend for an official visit. Virginia Tech hosted Hollifield for an unofficial visit for the Clemson game but he will be back for the North Carolina game because that will be his official visit. Stanford will get their chance to have Hollifield for an official visit the weekend of January 12th, the first weekend after the dead period ends.

In the story linked above Hollifield talks about all of these visits, how he feels about each school in his final five, as well as his commitment timeline.

IMO: This is a VT, Stanford, UNC race but there is still a lot to play out.

Khadim Sy

Saw on my news feed that Sy has left the community college he transferred to and is now back at VT. Can you confirm Tim...and will Buzz take him back on the team when the new semester begins? I assume he would not be eligible for any games taking place in the current semester.
