**New** Nasir Peoples will visit Notre Dame

The Irish recently offered the 2018 DB commit (who only picked the Hokies a couple weeks ago):

There is a little bit to worry about here, just because when a national power enters the mix for a kid outside the pipeline areas, you have to work hard to keep him in the fold. However, he's expected to remain a Hokie nonetheless.

If we beat WF, we have to crack the top 25

If we beat Wake, that would put us at 22-8 and 11-7 in the ACC as we finish up the regular season as a 5 or 6 seed in the ACC tournament in the toughest conference in the country. I would be shocked and somewhat pissed off a bit, if.....and a big if, we beat Wake and are somehow not ranked come next Monday. Is it a big deal? Well, it is to me.

With the Miami win, we can lose to Wake by 20 and lose the first game of the ACC tournament by 20 and we are still a lock for the big dance. We likely were prior to the Miami game, but at this point, we are playing for a higher seed in the NCAA tournament.

Basketball Attendance

Back when I was in school (Dell Curry era) we filled the Cassell every time we played. Now, unless we are playing UNCheat, UVA, or Dook, we see empty seats scattered all over the place. What does Whit have to do to fill up this building? Just winning doesn't seem to be enough anymore, and I'm concerned this would be one of the things that could cause us to lose a good coach like Buzz.

There are a number of factors I typically hear mentioned, i.e., season ticket holders not making the trip, student seating, television, etc.

I recently saw where we are putting in new seats and am wondering if this is the time to be addressing this issue. If I was Whit, and it appeared that our average is only going to be 7000, for example, then I might consider only installing 7000 seats so we don't look half empty every time the TV cameras come on.

Alternatively, to get attendance up, would it help to stop selling season tickets to people who don't show except for the big name opponents, so that more tickets are available for students and locals?

Just curious if anyone else have any concerns or thoughts about this. Seems to me that this should be part of the reboot of our program.

VT- A look at this recruiting class, top target, & possible next commitment

Story- ACC Breakdown: 2018 class update

The Hokies exceeded expectations last season and are working to keep that momentum going. This solid start to the 2018 class has them set up well moving forward. Virginia Tech is trying to get upgrades at every position and are really focusing on team speed. Rivals100 linebacker Dax Hollifield is this year’s highest priority, and the North Carolina native could be an instant impact player for Bud Foster’s defense in Blacksburg. North Carolina and South Carolina were viewed as the other top contenders, but a flurry of offers from Notre Dame, Florida State, Georgia, and Alabama have made things a little less clear. Keep an eye on offensive lineman John Harris for Virginia Tech. The Hokies are in very good position here, and Harris could join the Virginia Tech commitment list relatively soon.

Would a parking garage help with attendance?

I have been to a lot of VT events over the years. With all of the changes (new buildings, traffic circles, etc.), many of the old parking spots are gone. Would a parking garage next to Lane Stadium or even closer out toward 460 be a "facility upgrade" that could help attendance at events? I generally catch a bus from the school on Prices Fork to football games, but would like to attend more basketball, baseball, and other sports if I did not have to compete for parking as much. (after work days, there is not time to get there and find a spot easily). So the question would be, is there any plans for this in the coming years?
