***INsider: 6.14 VT Camp Notes***

Guys, at VT for a second straight day, for the Hokies' third camp of the weekend. I'll have tons more coverage coming, but while we're on a break for lunch, here's the latest.

*A couple of big-timers are on hand, but aren't participating in camp. Imhotep Charter (Pa.) four-star offensive lineman Johncarlo Valentin brought a few of his teammates, but has just been hanging out. This is his first trip to VT and Blacksburg and they'll be hanging out the rest of the day before heading back. So far, Valentin has been hanging out with most of the coaches and told me he's enjoying himself. Full video coming.

**The other big name, who's been keeping very low key is Palmyra (NJ) four-star WR Kelvin Harmon, No. 248 in the Rivals250. No VT offer, but he's definitely on the list. There's a chance he leaves with one in hand, but likely, the Hokies will wait to see what happens with some of the offers already out at receiver. But Harmon is definitely interested and it sounds like if an offer does come, VT would be in his top list.

***The big news of the morning is the ascension of Chancellor (Va.) 2017 DE Yetur Matos. He just got an offer in camp with Clemson yesterday and this morning, when Virginia found out he was camping at VT, the Hoos offered him. I'll be shocked if he leaves VT without an offer. This kid is blowing up and will likely have more offers over the next few weeks as he camps more. He's displayed impressive quickness in camp and has been exciting to watch.

****Hylton (Va.) three-star athlete Donovan Williams is in camp with the Hokies, despite committing to James Madison last month. He's been working out at QB, but I think is better suited for defensive back. He'll be one of those guys to watch for getting a late offer, as he's a great athlete, but I'll be shocked if VT offers this weekend or any time soon.

*****Another in the same boat as Williams is St Peter's (NJ) receiver KJ Gray. He already has a few decent offers, like Rutgers and Syracuse and told me he really wants a VT offer. But like Williams, he'll have to be one that would get offered late. No offer coming right now until some of the current offers sort themselves out. I like his size, speed and athleticism, though.

******The other kid to really watch is Dematha (Md.) 2017 OL Marcus Minor. He's gotten some extended looks from the coaching staff, who like his frame and his footwork for his age. Another kid who probably won't get an offer today, but this fall, don't be surprised to see VT and others make an offer.

***INsider: VT 6.13 Camp***

Guys, lunch break at the Hokies' camp, but wanted to run over a few early notes. Interviews will take place at the end of the day, so I'll have a lot more tidbits in a bit.

*Not a lot of talent in attendance, but the one guy who is on hand is Forest Park (Va.) three-star WR Eric Kumah. He told me he's hanging out just to support a few of his teammates, who are in the camp. Kumah said he still plans to announce next Friday, June 19. That's been the day he's been pointing to for a while. I'll gather more when I interview him later, but he really seems at home today. He's been hanging out with all the VT players on hand, like CJ Reavis, Kendall Fuller, Isaiah Ford and Cam Phillips and seems to be having a great time. Kumah has also been walking around and taking everything with the camp in.

***The one offer hopeful to really keep an eye on is three-star receiver Corey Sutton. We've said here for a while that VT is the offer he's wanted most for months. And you can tell today that he wants a Hokie offer BAD. He's taken a ton of reps in one-on-ones and has made some good catches. Sutton is just a tweener. Good, but not sure he's good enough to get an offer, especially with all the other receiver offers VT has out. He ran a 4.57 40 yard dash this morning, so he's got the attention of VT, but they'll have to miss on a lot of guys for him to get an offer.

***Yahoo! Sports Radio's Sean Salisbury, who I saw in Baltimore for the Five-Star Challenge, was on hand. He's tutoring one of the QBs in action, St Thomas (TX) 2016 Michael Keating. Good arm, but not gonna get a VT offer, especially with Joshua Jackson's commit.

****I will say, keep an eye on Bolles (Fla.) 2017 quarterback Mac Jones. He already has a Kentucky offer and I've thought he looked poised all morning. Great arm and it seems like offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler has paid a bit more attention to him so far. I like Jones' poise, too. One worth watching as far as who might come out of this camp with an offer.

*****Last tidbit, another guy to keep an eye on is Chatfield (Colo.) 2017 tight end Dalton Keene. One reason is because he has two years left. Already has decent hands and a good frame. I'm not sure of the VT connection, since it's not often that a Colorado kid comes this direction, but I'll try to see what I can find. Keene doesn't have any offers and I'm not sure he'll get one today, but the Hokies have their eyes on him.

Heading back to camp now, but check back for more updates.

INsider: Possible transfer?

Hey guys,

According to a University of Georgia source, one of their quarterbacks, Jacob Park, left the football program and has expressed some interest in Virginia Tech "as an option."

The redshirt freshman was heavily recruited by Hokies offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler before he decided on UGA.

Although the position at quarterback is filled and all the slots for quarterback are full, could the Hokies offer Park a spot on the team?

I will keep you guys posted if I hear anything else on Park. Thoughts?

Tarholes should, but won't, get the death penalty

The ncaa won't ever drop the big hammer again, but they should. Retributive justice demands it.

There is no way to estimate the damage unc has done to the likes of VT. Short of the DP, theres no way to redress the harm. If they were out of the way completely, it would, over time, help those whom unc has harmed.

Fact is, were the ncaa led by honest people they'd acknowledge unc's scandal in recruiting is just as big (if not bigger) and has been going on just as long as the academic fraud.

Worse than SMU.

***INsider: Tyrone Hopper Top 7***

Guys, I tweeted it out, but Roswell (Ga.) three-star LB Tyrone Hopper just text me that he has a top seven. But while I tweeted that part out, what makes this INsider info here is that Hopper also text me, "I'll probably shorten this list after my VT visit." That visit is next Saturday, June 20. So, good sign for the Hokies.

Right now, I think VT, Kentucky and Louisville are his top three unofficially. That's just from all my conversations and texts with him. He told me he also likes Missouri and Wisconsin, but slim for those two since he hasn't had a chance to visit. Looking like a decision for Hopper towards the end of the summer, before the start of his senior season.
