The blowout loss to Duke last night moved us UP to a #10 seed in Lunardi's new projected tournament field, updated this morning. I can offer no apparent logic behind our upward trajectory...maybe Tim can.
Cliff's notes version: if VT takes care of business, they should be in. If they miss out (even after losing some of these final few games), it's because of the terrible non-conference schedule they played.
He won't be there this weekend, btu VT should have a few recruits in the house. I'll put together a visitors list for tomorrow if it is more than just a few guys (otherwise I'll primarily post them on the message board).
I have lost all faith in the decisions, or lack thereof, by those in authority as they pertain to college athletics. Some of you on this board probably can guess (from reading my posts) how I feel about Bracketology . . .
I would assume that we will never schedule St. Louis again. Little did we know that a 6 point loss on Nov. 16 would be such a devastating loss that it would require the unranked Hokies to beat #10 UNC at home and the #1 Cavaliers on the road just to gain an opportunity to be invited to the Big Dance IF we can manage to still beat another ranked team or two before the season is over.
What’s the feeling guys? Game day in Hoo Town....UVA on verge of possibly being #1...... I believe it will be a tall task for VT but it can be done with great 3 point shooting coming from guys driving the lane and kicking back out. I believe Hoos win but a much closer game than the 1st. I got to believe VT will be pumped to keep Hoos from being #1. Looking forward to watching....
So, despite beating the projected number 1 overall seed on their home court, its the wisdom of Mr. Joe Lunardi that VT be dropped from a #10 seed to an #11 seed in this morning's Bracket Update, and remain as the final team receiving a bye. Go figure that logic!

I really like Mitchell's potential. At the same time, there are too many question marks to accurately predict exactly how it will translate to the next level.

I think what you are seeing is a Defense that is gearing up to become real nasty.
