I know transfer portal is out of hand but it now looks like the entire team short of the ones out of eligibility have entered the portal. Has to be more to the story for Young losing all these players. Back story?

Confirmed by Virginia Tech staff, Kenny Brooks is departing the Hokies for the same position at Kentucky. Quotes below from AD Whit Babcock

“We hired Kenny in 2016 with the intent of revitalizing our women’s basketball program,” Virginia Tech director of athletics Whit Babcock said. “Needless to say, Kenny, his staff and student-athletes created a culture of excellence on and off the court. He was an incredible mentor to the young women in our women’s basketball program and a terrific representative of our department and university. We wish Kenny and his family well in this next chapter of his career."

“I remain confident in the trajectory of our women’s basketball program and when combined with our resources, specifically NIL, that the future of our women’s basketball program is bright.”

As much as I like Mike Young, I think it is time for us to move on. He has not been able to maintain where the program was under the last coach much less take it forward. His offense is 'pass pass pass on the perimeter, then attempt a 3'. On the night the 3's are falling, we win the game. On the night they are not, we get blown out of the arena. I think we need to find a coach who has the offense to play pick and roll, and inside-outside game. That does not appear to be Mike Young.
