According to ESPN, QB Michael Brewer has a broken collarbone and will have surgery tomorrow. Out for 5 weeks. It's going to be interesting to see where this season goes.

Except that we are 2 - 3 touchdowns worse than the best team in college football. Ohio state will likely go undefeated this season and they will roll a lot of teams a lot worse than they rolled us. If Brewer had stayed in the game, it could have been closer, but they have too many hosses. 10 of their current players are rated in the top 150 players in the upcoming NFL draft. They have 6 - 8 NFL first round draft picks over the next two years, and another 6 - 8 that will go in the first three rounds. IMHO, this is a once-in-a-decade type of Ohio State team. And we led them at the half, and were moving the ball to go back ahead when Brewer went out. We'll know a lot more between now and the time Brewer comes back. I'm proud of the team.

Jason and mods- feel free to delete this if you feel it inappropriate, but I am concerned about Beamer's health and frankly his faculties.

In the post-game interview his speech was slow and slurred, and he seemed to be having trouble finding the words he wanted to say. Could this simply be a lingering effect of his throat surgery last year, or is it something else? My Dad (who passed away last year) had the exact same speech issues after a series of mini-strokes that preceded a fatal stroke (the docs called it "thick tongue").

Obviously I hope and pray that Coach Beamer is OK, but he looks very sick to me. And there is a point at which the stress and demands of coaching are not only bad for his health, but bad for the team. I'm worried that we are nearing that point. Am I over analyzing?

I suspected that Urban was going to start Cardale. It just made sense. He has the body and mindset to extend plays and the strength to hit targets anywhere even when he is being tackled. His competition is a very good pocket passer and an excellent runner but he does not have Cardale's strength.

We have to recruit some real linebackers because our linebackers has been out of place all night long.

I thought face guarding was allowed now in college football. Not complaining about officiating but the call on Fuller in the endzone appeared to be a face guarding call. Also did anyone else think that should have been offensive interference on their first touchdown? Just curious cause the replay looked to me like the WR shoved Stroman out of the way.

Losing Brewer is gonna hurt but up until then we were going head to head with the number one team and even fell behind and our offense even came back! The whole team looked improved. Much to be excited about. So we have a game or two to figure out if Motely, Durkin or Lawson can do something! Team needs some positive MoJo right now! These boys played hard and competed. We will never be perennial top 5 and go 2 and 3 deep. But tonight was what we are our starters gives us a chance everytime! We played better than Bama and Oregon etc.
So stop with the doom and gloom Beamer going through 2016 and has shown me enough tonight he is still ok and then we bring in Rich Rod running the O and Bud runs the D and we bring Armageddon to college football!
Oh does anyone know if Durkin or Lawson can pass?

We could definitely use some good linebacker recruits. Hopefully, these guys can see opportunities to play immediately at the skilled positions. Also, I think that we should seriously look at bringing in another quarterback because we may need another next year.

That's what I saw tonight. This team will struggle vs furman. Classic game the Hokies either struggle to win or lose while looking like a flat soda.

to win our game easily and to waltz thru their schedule and repeat as National Champs.

Getting' tired of hearing how good they will be.

I hope all the interviews and photo shoots distract them and they walk into Lane Stadium thinking they will win just by showing up.

Believe it! Hold OSU running yards to a reasonable number and protect Brewer. Accomplish those things, and It will happen for us.

Kick the ball out of the endzone on kick offs? Got to tell you of everything that worries me poor kickoffs scare me the most. Not too much more I think Ohio State can do that could take the air out any quicker than running a kickoff back.

Whereas I wish my Hokies would repeat - I just don't see Ohio State being surprised by us this year. Unless we get some really good matchups - I think they win. I don't think they will slaughter us like some people think but I think they win. I am going with 37-24 Ohio State. Here's hoping to a good game and no injuries.

if we will see Johnson or not? I know that QBs are always close to the vest but was wondering if there will be packages for the true freshman against a unanimous #1 ranked team?

I'll be arriving on Sunday in Blacksburg for the game with my dad and brother. Haven't been to a game at Lane Stadium in almost 10 years. Any recommendations on what to do in town? I know gameday is there but I don't know how that all works with it being a monday and it not starting until later.

I'm itching to see people's thoughts on the outcome.
