D now 18th in America. I noticed. O 88th. Why Bama wins another title

VT D ranks 18th in America. Dang that ole Bud Foster. Where is the old loyalists TSL regulars on this board that love to slam Foster. You know who you are. What did I tell you? Bud will have this D finish in the top 20 by seasons end. It's an AMAZING Coaching Job and he should be defensive coach of the year with the injuries they have had and still 18th in America and still climbing. As for our O...still trending south. 88th now in total O.

Alabama, number 1 in total D. Number 23 in total O. That's correct if your thought was the number 23 and VT's O. VT has not had an offense ANYWHERE CLOSE in total O to 23rd since Ricky Bustle left. A number one defense...really....a top 10 D and a good efficient O can win titles. Bama has done this before with very similar numbers. I like their chances. P.S. Did you know that last season, Virginia Tech had the 5th ranked total defense in America by season's end? Many forget. I did not.

HokieHaven.com's Partnership With WSLS

Guys, I mentioned it earlier on today's chat, but wanted to officially announce HokieHaven.com's partnership with WSLS-TV in Roanoke. As many of you may know, Rivals.com has entered into an exclusive partnership with NBC Sports. In this agreement, we'll share content and be featured on the new NBC Sports Network. We've already had a long-standing relationship as NBC has aired the Army All-American game, for which we've been much of the on-air talent and also selected the players for the game.

But while nationally, NBC and Rivals are slowly integrating features, WSLS and HokieHaven.com have decided to step on the gas. We'll be sharing content, information and other online features. You'll see our content and name featured on WSLS NBC and Fox21/27 (newscasts handled and produced by WSLS) in Roanoke and Lynchburg and vice versa.

I'm REALLY excited about this deal, which will expand our coverage and allow us to bring you even more Virginia Tech and recruiting coverage. And there's plenty more to come as we really hash out what's to come.

This will help give you the MOST for your subscription and also help make us the leader for Virginia Tech and recruiting coverage.

RIVALS POSTERS.....Read the Rules! (Updated)

1. No profanity. Substituting characters (!, @, *) for key letters in order to thinly veil profanity is also not acceptable. Obviously, some profanities are "worse" than others. Basically, if they can't say it on network TV, you shouldn't say it here.

2. No porn or obscene material of any kind. Any user posting pornographic
pictures, or links to such material will receive automatic banishment.

3. No personal attacks on VT players or coaches. Constructive criticism is allowed, and even welcome, but personal attacks will earn you a few days of rest from the boards. There is a fine line between a personal attack and criticizing someone's play or coaching decisions. In other words, saying "So-and-so sucks," is not acceptable. Saying "So-and-so's performance tonight" is acceptable.

4. No personal attacks on fellow users. If you want to get into a flame war with a fellow VT fan, take it to another web site that is perfectly suitable for such behavior or use e-mail. If another poster expresses
an opinion you don't like, tell him why he's wrong instead of calling him a moron, or a poster child for abortion.

5. Use good judgment when posting "Sig" pictures. A picture of an attractive woman is fine, but if she doesn't have all of her "fun" parts completely covered, we cannot allow it. Any other pictures deemed unsuitable for the Open Forum is subject to banning.

6. SPECIFIC RULES FOR VT POSTERS: No unwarranted personal attacks on visitors. Visitors from other schools are allowed on the Open Forum, as long as they remain cordial. Over time, we've noticed certain regular users who attack these visitors, when their only crime is that they are not VT fans themselves. This behavior will not be tolerated. Of course, there will be the occasional, or even frequent visits from WVU fans, UVA fans, etc. whose only intention is to flame. Point their posts out and the monitors will take the necessary action.

7. SPECIFIC RULES FOR VISITORS. Obviously, this is a VT board for VIRGINIA TECH fans. As stated in rule 6, fans of other schools are perfectly welcome on our board, but don't expect to receive the same wiggle room from the admin as our regular users. Our definition of flaming includes making derogatory comments about anything having to do with VT(athletically or academically). Sexual innuendos, calling VT cheaters, posting personal information, snide remarks about the coaches or players (in any sport), arguing board rules with the monitors and baited posts are strictly forbidden and deemed banning offenses. If your sole intention is to flame on the Open Forum, you will be banned permanently with no questions asked. If your original intent was to come to our board to have an intelligent discussion, and that discussion deteriorates into a flame war, you will be banned with no questions asked. This board is not public domain. You are a visitor, and we expect you to act like it.

8. Posting links promoting other web sites and soliciting memberships from members of this board are strictly forbidden and are considered a banning offense. The same can be said for miscellaneous product promotion. As mentioned in another thread, people utilize other sites to promote products, games, etc....

9. Posting premium content from other web sites is forbidden and a banning offense.

RULES FOR POSTING ON THE GOBBLER

Guys, in light of some recent posts, I'm not pointing out anyone specifically, but I've put together a list of some things to keep in mind on this message board. I've basically taken what's been posted on our free board, but the same thing applies here:

1. Watch the language. I know this is a premium board, so I won't completely ban profanity. But if you let it get out of hand, I will take action. No one wants to see a complete potty mouth and I'm one of them. Watch your use of it..

2. No porn or obscene material of any kind. Any user posting pornographic
pictures, or links to such material will receive automatic banishment.

3. No personal attacks on VT players or coaches. Constructive criticism
is allowed, and even welcome, but personal attacks will earn you a few
days of rest from the boards. There is a fine line between a personal
attack and criticizing someone's play or coaching decisions. In other
words, saying "So-and-so sucks," is not acceptable. Saying "So-and-so's
performance tonight" is acceptable.

4. No personal attacks on fellow users. If you want to get into a flame
war with a fellow VT fan, take it to another web site that is perfectly
suitable for such behavior or use e-mail. If another poster expresses
an opinion you don't like, tell him why he's wrong instead of calling
him a moron, or a poster child for abortion.

5. Use good judgment when posting "Sig" pictures. A picture of an
attractive woman is fine, but if she doesn't have all of her "fun" parts
completely covered, we cannot allow it. Any other pictures deemed
unsuitable for the Open Forum is subject to banning.

6. No political postings. I realize it's an election year, but this is not the place to promote anyone or anything, nor denounce anything or anyone politically. Take it somewhere else.

7. Posting links promoting other web sites and soliciting memberships
from members of this board are strictly forbidden and are considered a
banning offense.

9. Posting premium content from other web sites is forbidden and a banning offense.

It will be my judgment for banning or not banning someone. Just know that my rule of thumb is to warn on a first offense and ban on a second offense, no questions asked.

This board is an absolutely WONDERFUL community of Virginia Tech supporters and I'm thrilled to have each of you here. Let's make sure we work to keep it that way! As always, please email me about an questions, comments, etc. you have.
